Communication Disruption – SIM Card Deactivation

Incident Description

In May 2025, during my trip to China, my Danish mobile number was abruptly deactivated, preventing me from sending or receiving messages, receiving bank or government verification codes, and contacting my family. The number had been regularly billed with no outstanding balance and no prior warnings before deactivation.

Analysis

This action occurred immediately after I lodged a formal complaint against the Danish government, depriving me of access to critical information and emergency contact capabilities, effectively isolating me in a “technical information blackout.” I could not receive any government notifications, bank codes, or calls from relatives—an outright severing of communication.
Such an “information cutoff” tactic meets the United Nations’ definition of retaliatory harassment, using the deprivation of communication channels to exert psychological and practical pressure, severely violating my fundamental right to contact and to be informed.
